Tara Reid started off her movie career in a horror movie so is a great person to feature on our Horror Vixen site. Tara’s first movie appearance was in A return to Salem’s Lot, way back in 1987, which is a great starting point for anybody as it was written by the one and only Stephen King. The story focuses around a man and his son who inadvertently vacation to the Vampire populated town of Salem’s Lot. Tara did not have a huge part in this movie but it was certainly a stepping stone to bigger things.
Tara Reid went on to star alongside Christian Slater in the hit film Alone in the Dark and this to date is probably her largest role within the Horror Industry. The movie is based on the hit game and focuses around a detective of the paranormal who slowly unravels a series of mysterious events with deadly results. Just one year later Tara went on to star in the Horror movie Incubus, this film is very different to the last but I think works better for Tara. This movie is very strange but the plot works well. After a car accident in the mountains of Montana, six friends – Jay-Jay, her brother Josh, Bug, Holly, Peter and Karen – decide to find a shelter to protect themselves against the cold night. With the exception of Karen, the other five friends break in a facility using a rope through the skylight, but the rope breaks and they become trapped in the laboratory. They find two scientists dead and another completely insane, and they realize that the team of scientists was conducting experiments with a serial-killer in coma. When each youngster sleeps, the Sleeper invades the dream turning his victim into a slayer. The survivors try to escape from the sleepwalkers and find an exit.
Tara Reid also starred in The Fields last year which tells the story of a young boy and his family who are terrorized by an unseen presence. This is more of a thriller than a horror movie but is certainly worth a look. We expect to see much more from Tara Reid over the years and hope that she stars in plenty more horror movies for you viewing terror!
